Burna Boy perform at 2024 Grammy

Nigerian Grammy winner, Damini Ogulu professionally known as Burna Boy has revealed why he does not go giveaway to fans on social media.

The ‘Last Last’ crooner explained that the reason is because unlike his colleagues, he does not do it for validation or for the sake of stardom.

In a recent live session with his fans on Instagram, Burna Boy said he coordinates monetary disbursements to people that really need it.

He said Instagram and other social media platforms are not his target whenever he feels the urge to give out money to people.

Burna Boy said; “Me I no dey do all this una stardom style. I do giveaway to places that really matters, to people that really need it and most of them are not on the Instagram”.

Topcityvibe recalls that last year, a Nigerian lady known on Twitter as @takeshi_ix, called out Big Brother Naija star, Natacha Akide aka Tacha for failing to fulfil a pledge she made three years ago.

In April 2020, Tacha asked her loyal fanbase ‘Titans’ to drop their account numbers under her post so that she can credit them and silence her counterparts.

The BBNaija 2019 housemate was in the heat of her rift with the season’s winner, Mercy Eke at the time so their fanbases were often clashing. In a bid to make a loud statement, the Port Harcourt First Daughter offered to do giveaway to show appreciate her fans for showing her love.

She said she had been getting credit alerts and she wanted to do random transfers from 3pm to 5pm on April 16, 2020. The reality star had written; “TITANS DROP YOUR ACCOUNT!! Let’s school Dem!!🤣

@takeshi_ix took to her comment section and dropped her account details hoping to be among the lucky beneficiaries.

However, it seems she never got credited, so she again went online and quoted the same post with a tweet expressing disappointment.

The lady shared a meme of a monkey stretching out its hand as though it were asking for something, and captioned; “Tacha no be so”.
