

Rose Marie Kujawa was born and reared in Detroit, where she earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Wayne State University. She afterwards continued to instruct at Madonna University (formerly Madonna College). Where she also held academic dean and vice president positions before being chosen as president.
Kujawa served as the Archbishop of Detroit’s delegate for consecrated life after stepping down from her position as president.
As a result of her labor, more than 30 countries were visited; in 2021, Pope Francis honored Kujawa. For her service to the church and the papacy, she received the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice medal.
The sixth of Francis and Anna (Rakoczy) Kujawa’s seven children, Jane was born in Detroit. Her siblings are Mary Lou Koziel, Helen Hampton+, Francis+, Laura Colasinski, Rosemarie+, Jane Sister Rose Marie), and John.

She was admitted to the Felician Congregation in 1960, given the name Sister Rose Marie, and made her final vows in 1968. After completing St. John Cantius Grade School and Felician Academy.
