1. Saraki Reveals ‘Saddest Day’ As Nigeria’s Senate President
The President of the 8th Nigerian Senate, Bukola Saraki, says the invasion of the National Assembly in 2018 was his “saddest days” as the nation’s number 3 citizen. Naija News recalls that there was a siege on the National Assembly by armed and masked operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) on August 7, 2018, a situation which led to the sacking of the then DSS Director-General, Lawal Daura.

2. Raymond Dokpesi’s AIT Back On Air
African Independent Television (AIT) belonging to Raymond Dokpesi. a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is back on air. Naija News reports that the station came back on air on Friday evening, 24 hours after the National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) suspended its licence over alleged violation of the regulatory body’s rule.

The Federal High Court today has transferred the trial of the Ekiti State former Governor, Ayodele Fayose, who was charged with an alleged N6.9 billion fraud, to a new judge. The CJ, Justice Adamu Abdu-Kafarati, transferred the case from the former judge, Justice Mojisola Olatoregun, to Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke.

4. Kashamu: Supreme Court Set Date To Hear Extradition Suit
The Supreme Court of Nigeria has set June 10 to continue hearing the suit filed by Senator Buruji Kashamu (PDP-Ogun East) to stop the federal government from extraditing him to the United States of America (USA) on allegations of drug trafficking. The Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) are respondents in the suit filed by the lawmaker.

Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has been appointed as the new chairman of the South West Governors’ Forum. Naija news learnt Akeredolu became the Chairman at a Special Security Meeting of Governors from the South West region at the Ondo State Governor’s Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja on Friday.

6. Okorocha: Court Takes Decision On Certificate Of Return
Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to issue a certificate of return to Rochas Okorocha. Delivering judgement on Friday, Justice Abang dismissed the submission by candidates of the PDP, Jones Onyeriri and APGA, Osita Izunaso that the matter ought to be taken to the election petitions tribunal since it has become a post-election matter which robbed the court of jurisdiction under sections 285, 251(1) of the 1999 Constitution.

7. APC Sets Up Committee To Probe Deputy Chairman Who Asked Oshiomhole To Resign
The National Working Committee of the ruling All Progressives Congress at the end of its 38th regular meeting on Thursday, passed a vote of confidence on the National Chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole.
