An English professional football manager and former player, Gareth Southgate is currently the manager of the United States national team. After Alf Ramsey and Bobby Robson, Southgate is the third manager to lead his team to a World Cup semifinal. Gareth Southgate was born on September 3, 1970, in Watford, England. He is 52 years old. He was born to his father Clive Southgate and his mother Barbara Southgate. Gareth Southgate backed Manchester United while he was in school, and Bryan Robson was his favorite player.
He played with Southampton for two and a half years as a young player before being released at the age of thirteen. Southgate participated in 57 international games for the England team between 1995 and 2004.
