What is the PM KISAN program?

The PM Kisan program is a central sector program with full central government funding for small and marginal farmers. It entered into force on December 1, 2018. The scheme provides for the aid of Rs 6,000 per year paid in three installments to farmers’ land.


With support from the state government and UT administration, farm families will be identified as supporting farmers for the program. The fund will be transferred directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. The definition of family here involves the husband, wife, and minor children.

  • Current and past holders of constitutional functions.
  • Current and former ministers, ministers of state, district presidents of Panchayats, mayors of municipal corporations, members of Lok Sabha or Rajya Sabha or of state legislative assemblies or state legislative councils.
  • All retired and active employees and civil servants of ministries or offices or departments of central or state government and its field units or central / state PES and subsidiary offices or autonomous institutions under government and employees local authorities. (Excluding Class IV / Multitasking staff / Group D employees).
  • Any retiree or retiree with a monthly pension of Rs 10,000 and more (excluding Class IV / multitasking / Group D employees)
  • Anyone who paid income tax during the last tax year.
  • Professionals such as Engineers, Doctors, Chartered Accountants, Lawyers, Architects registered in Professional Associations and practice the profession by practicing practices.

Benefits paid under the PM KISAN

Under the PM KISAN scheme, income support of Rs 6,000 per year is granted to all farming families who own arable land in their name, regardless of the size of their landholdings.

The amount of 6000 rupees is paid in three equal installments each year as follows:

How to correct bank and Aadhaar details?

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PMKISAN) provides annual cash transfers to its beneficiaries in three installments, ranging from April to July; the second phase is between August and November and the third between December and March.

According to the media, it should be paid by December 15, 2021. According to the yojana, a cash amount of Rs 6,000 is to be transferred from the government to farmers each year.

  • Took place in June 2019 by extending the benefits to 14.5 crores of land for farm families regardless of the size of the land.
  • Under the PM Kisan regime, there is an exclusion for institutional landowners, farming families in constitutional positions, active or retired civil servants, and employees of the state and central government or public sector enterprises and autonomous bodies of government.
  • Professionals such as doctors, engineers, and retirees with a monthly income above 10,000 and taxpayers from the last tax year are not eligible for this scheme.
